UPC labels. Print stickers you own

Published: · 3 min read · Tutorial

You can print UPC labels you already own on a Zebra. Open the free label maker, set 2x1, add UPC-A bound to {{upc}}, and batch from Excel. We print the barcode you provide. We don't issue GS1 prefixes.

UPC-A basics

You can draw UPC-A, UPC-E, EAN, CODE128, and CODE39 in the free label maker. Overview: free barcode label maker.

Design a product label

  1. Open https://app.mylabelmaker.com. No signup.
  2. Size: 2x1 or 2.25x1.25 for most product stickers. 3x2 if you need price, name, and bars.
  3. Add barcode, format UPC-A, value {{upc}}. Add {{name}}, optional price.
  4. CSV columns: upc, name, price. Open Variables, load the sheet, print one sample and scan it before the run.
Print one sample and scan with a phone or POS scanner before a full run. Leave quiet zones (blank margins) on both sides of the UPC.

Retail + food packaging

Packaged food: pair UPC with a nutrition panel you already designed. Nutrition here is design-only. Internal SKUs that are not GS1 UPCs should use CODE128. See inventory labels.

Amazon / Walmart product labels

Amazon FBA often needs FNSKU (not plain UPC on the unit). See FBA labels. Walmart Marketplace sellers: Walmart shipping for 4×6; use this UPC guide for product stickers.

GS1 compliance: mylabelmaker prints the barcode you provide. You must own or license valid UPC numbers (GS1 or authorized reseller). The software does not issue UPC company prefixes.
