Zebra label software for Windows, free browser alternative

Published: · 3 min read · Setup

Most US warehouses run Windows 10 or 11 next to a Zebra ZD420/ZD421. The default software story is ZebraDesigner (Essentials or paid), installers, licenses, and an older UI. There is a simpler path: free browser-based Zebra label software that works in Chrome or Edge, with one small helper for printing.

What to install on Windows

  1. Nothing for design, open app.mylabelmaker.com in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Brave.
  2. Zebra Browser Print (free), only when you want direct USB/network print. Installer links on the setup section; full guide: Browser Print setup.
  3. Connect the printer, restart the browser once, select the Zebra in mylabelmaker.
IT-friendly: no admin rights needed for daily design (browser only). Browser Print is a one-time helper install, lighter than full ZebraDesigner + license keys for every station.
